Marie Ange Raissa Uwamungu

Marie Ange Raissa Uwamungu is a Rwandan youth, strongly passionate about the wellbeing of people with a focus on advocating for girls and women in all their diversity’s rights. She is a 2023 Mandela Washington Fellow, she attended GenderPro course at George Washington University, she is a Young African Leaders Initiative (RLC), Women in Innovation (WiIN) and Social Impact Incubator (SII) by Segal Family Foundation (SFF) alumna. She has attended different national and international conferences, trainings and meetings. She is a Board member of the African Youth and Adolescent Network (AfriYAN) Rwanda chapter 2023-2025 and member of the Commonwealth Youth Gender and Equality Network (CYGEN), she took part in a series of co-creation sessions for the development of the first ever Pan-African SRH digital hub in Youth Power Hub where she serves as the Youth Power Hub Rwanda Representative. She is a professional translator, transcriber, and mentor. Thanks to her ambitious spirit and driven by a desire to change people’s lives, she founded a non-governmental organization Impanuro Girls Initiative (IGI) in 2017 and serves as its Executive Director; IGI fosters women empowerment and builds girls agency. Raissa is a natural and creative leader, and a people person. She likes to spend after work hours reading, planning events, travelling and listening to music.
She is a big fan of discovering new places as well as meeting new people.
