Dr. Evode Niyibizi, MD
Country Director
Evode is passionate and dedicated young leader in health and development, an enthusiast of health policy and health economics holding a bachelor's degree in general medicine and surgery from the University of Rwanda.
With 6+ of experience, Evode has been instrumental in shaping national policies and strategies, and regional instruments. Currently serving as the Country Director for AfriYAN Rwanda and member of the Capacity Building Team for AfriYAN East and Southern Africa, plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights and well-being of adolescents and youth.
Beyond national roles, Evode serves as a member to UNFPA's Global Youth Reference Group rerepresenting the Eastern and Southern Africa region, and contributes in shaping the international programmes and efforts for adolescents and youth globally. His extensive contribution in the renewal of ICPD Commitments for Rwanda and East Africa underscores his commitment to advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights. He also represents Rwanda on the Global Youth Board for the Generation Gender, a global Programme to create a gender-just and violence-free societies with and for young people across seven countries.
